Broadway Goes Political

Following this week’s presidential debate cast members from Hamilton: An American Musical have been setting up a voter registration event outside of Richard Rodgers Theatre, where the show takes place. Members of the cast who are participating have been trained by voter registration volunteers from the Hispanic Federation, an organization providing community services to the Hispanic community in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The cast made sure to share the news on twitter before the event.

Hamilton isn’t the only musical family to raise their voices when it comes to the upcoming presidential election.

Broadway for Hillary has emerged among some Broadway stars as their way to ask others to vote for Hillary Clinton as the next President.

Broadway for Hillary presented Broadway Calls for Clinton, the first day of phone banking for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign on September 18. They also filmed a video where they took familiar Broadway tunes and gave them a Clintonesque spin.

Clinton also made history by receiving the first presidential endorsement from Actors‘ Equity Association in its 103-year history.
